Walk and Grok

My fragmented dev journey began three weeks ago because I believed I needed a new hobby project and because I heard a lot of smart people tell me (before there was AI) , “learn to code.” I have always been interested in coding, but never got past learning some simple html.

I spent hours and miles on a ‘walk and Grok’ discussing how to approach learning to code now without going broke or insane. My first plan was to build a website with an AI theme and learn by doing, then share it when I was done.

In the span of 3 weeks, I changed my mind about how to do my project at least a dozen times, changed my social media handle 3 times, and registered 12 different domains, including an expensive $140 .ai TLD I didn’t need because I couldn’t pick the perfect name for my website(s).

Grok gently advised me several times to stop domain hoarding, but I couldn’t  hear him in my manic name-shopping state.

Today in the calm, after the frenzy of my domain purchases and idea pivots finally settled down, I realized that this hobby is not about a finished project, but more about the journey. So, I resolved to take up microblogging and document my learning process, even if I’m the only one who reads it.
